I am honored and privileged to be part of Y & M Anjuman Khairul Islam, one of the oldest Orphanages and Educational institutions in Maharashtra.

I grew up in the vicinity where the movement to the cause of orphans and education started providing an emotional touch to the poor and needy.

The situation is very testing, if not worse. Being a guardian to orphans and poor students and empowering them with a quality education is not only compelling but at the same time very challenging.

Economically weaker, illiterate, or semi-literate parents, lack of quality schools in the neighborhood resulted in lower enrollment in schools especially, among the girl child. Dropout rates are always a cause of concern especially in the higher education field.

A humble effort initiated by elders and visionaries now has established itself and grown many folds. Going through the reports of this year, it can easily be said that we are on the right path and need to speed up the process for the educational empowerment of the poor and needy.

By the grace of Allah, we are happy to announce that we are in the process of adding another feather to the cap of Y&M AKI. We have acquired the land and necessary approval to establish Grand Women's College, for Arts, Science and Commerce in Thane.
